Buddhism in the west

Lama Ole is one of the few Westerners fully qualified as a Lama and meditation teacher in the Tibetan Karma Kagyu Buddhist tradition.

In 1972, after completing three years of intensive meditation training, Lama Ole began teaching Buddhism in Europe at the request of H. H. the 16th Karmapa, Rangjung Rigpe Dorje, the spiritual head of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.

He has since transmitted the blessing of the lineage in a powerful and contemporary way, traveling and teaching worldwide almost continuously. He has founded over 600 Diamond Way Buddhist Centers in the Western world that are under the spiritual guidance of H.H. 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje.
